Problem to Solve
A conventional one-piece wrist rest assumes both hands remain in one fixed straight-line position.
With an adjustable or split keyboard, the hands may sit further apart and at different angles, making a fixed support less appropriate.
The Goldtouch two-piece system allows each gel pad to be positioned beneath its corresponding hand and moved as the keyboard configuration changes.
This preserves the benefit of keyboard adjustment without forcing the hands back towards a fixed central support. Goldtouch specifically recommends the two-piece design for adjustable keyboards because the rests can move as keyboard height or splay changes.
During active typing, the hands should remain free to move. The pads are best used as soft resting surfaces between periods of keying, rather than as points on which the wrists are heavily anchored.
